Activities undertaken in session 2009-2010

• 1. Seminar on Women empowerment and entrepreneurship: SUS  College of Research and Technology organized a seminar on Women empowerment and entrepreneurship on 12th Nov, 2010. Dr. Manjit Singh, Dean College Development Council was the chief guest of the occasion. Prof. Aruna Bhatia, Punjabi University Patiala and Dr. Manju Verma, Director, Woman Study Centre, Punjabi University Patiala were the key note speakers.
• 2. Fiesta-el-ceincia: Technical cum cultural event was jointly organised by SUS College of Research and Technology & Pharmacy. Students of either college participated in paper reading, quiz and debate.This fest was followed by cultural programme.     
• 3. Industrial visit: During the second semester two Industrial trips were organized. The students visited the Verka on 8th and 9th Feb, 2010. Visit to Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR), a premier institute involved in mushroom research, was made on April 6, 2010. 
• 4. Seminar cum workshop on Perspectives in Biotechnology: SUS College of Research and Technology & SUS College of Engineering and Technology jointly organized a Seminar cum workshop on perspectives in Biotechnology on 20.04.2010. Prof S.S Marwaha, Chief Executive of Punjab Incubator delivered Guest lecture followed by presentation cum demo programme by M/s G Biosciences Pvt Ltd, Noida. On the occasion debate and poster competition was also held among the students of Microbiology and Biotechnology.

Achievements

 Student of M.Sc Microbiology, Ms. Shilpa Saini topped the Punjabi University in Semester I examination securing 80.6% marks.
